FRONT LINE WORKERS ON POLIO VACCINATION CAMPAIGN IN THE NATIONAL CAPITAL DISTRICT & PAPUA NEW GUINEA ARE ACKNOWLEDGE BY NEW ZEALAND’S PRIME MINISTER

National Capital District, Port Moresby 6th August 2025- The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority’s boards and management are in preparation for the Polio Vaccination Campaign. The frontline workers are undergoing a two-day training to prepare for the National Polio Campaign.

The Prime Minister for New Zealand Hon. Christopher Luxon has donated Two Million New Zealand Dollars (NZ$2,0000, 000) to the Department of Health for the Polio Vaccination Campaign in the country. He sincerely acknowledged the Minister for Health Hon. Elias Kapavore for his leadership in Health in Papua New Guinea. “We want Polio to be eradicated in PNG,” said Mr. Luxon. Prime Minister Luxon also acknowledged the frontline workers of NCD Provincial Health Authority and other PHA’s across the country for their tireless effort and dedication in training for the Polio Vaccination Campaign in the country.

The Chief Executive Officer for NCD Provincial Health Authority Dr. Robin Oge has acknowledged New Zealand’s Prime Minister Hon. Christopher Luxon for recognizing the frontline workers of NCD Provincial Health Authority and other PHAs in the country. Dr. Oge also acknowledged all the partners for their continued support in the Polio Campaign. “The Boards and Management of NCD PHA are fully supporting the Polio campaign in the National Capital District,” said Dr. Oge. He further emphasized that Polio Elimination in the country requires the contributing effort from all PHAs in Papua New Guinea.

The management of NCD PHA is fully committed to providing effective health services in the National Capital District.
