

National Capital District, Port Moresby July 02, 2025- The NCD Provincial Health Authority’s CEO Dr. Robin Oge has signed a MOU on behalf of NCDPHAs Board and management to be part of the Pacific Islands Universities Research Network (PIURN).
The program is a collaborative effort with The George Institute for Global Health, the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech), and the Morobe Provincial Health Authority. The shared vision is to drive long-term, sustainable health development in PNG through focused initiatives in education, research, and capacity building.
The NCDPHA is dedicated to improving healthcare services across the National Capital District. Dr Oge said, “This partnership will enable us to tackle the growing burden of non-communicable diseases, strengthen health systems, integrate digital health technologies, and address critical issues related to nutrition and environmental health.” He emphasized further that the aim is to develop priority courses and accreditation pathways to strengthen nursing and allied health education and workforce readiness at a provincial level.
“Looking forward to the impactful work we will achieve together to advance innovative, fit-for-purpose research and education that supports sustainable health development and ultimately improves health outcomes for our communities in Papua New Guinea, ” said Dr. Oge.
