National Capital District, Port Moresby – 3rd March 2025 – Gordons Urban Clinic is pleased to announce the generous donation of furniture and supplies from Mr. Gerardo Lydna, the Country Director of Cocoa Company. This donation marks a significant contribution to the clinic and the National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA), helping to enhance the services provided to the local community.
During the presentation, Mr. Lydna expressed his commitment to supporting the public sector, highlighting the National Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen health services. “I am donating to Gordons Clinic out of goodwill, as a way to give back to the community and ease the work for both staff and patients,” Mr. Lydna stated. He further emphasized that his donation, though modest, aims to assist the clinic in continuing to provide essential services to the community.

Dr. Michael Dokup, Director for Curative Health Services, commented on the significance of the donation. “It is rare for people to come forward to show their support and appreciation. Our dedicated staff often face criticism and challenges, yet it is gestures like these that remind us that there are kind-hearted individuals in our community who value our work,” Dr. Dokup remarked. “This donation is not only valuable in its material form but also as a testament to the genuine appreciation from Mr. Lydna and other members of society.”
On behalf of the boards and management, Dr. Robin Oge, Acting CEO of the NCD Provincial Health Authority, extended his heartfelt thanks to Mr. Lydna for his generosity. “The health sector, like all government departments, requires ongoing attention and support,” said Dr. Oge. “By contributing to the health sector, we ensure the continuous delivery of vital health services, which is of paramount importance.”
